Cooling equipment is primarily used for coolin granular materials. The cooling equipment utilizes a design where the cooling air flows in the opposite direction to the material flow, ensuring slow cooling from bottom to top, effectively reducing particle breakage and improving product quality. The cooled material temperature is only 3-5°C higher than ambient temperature, fully demonstrating its excellent cooling efficiency. equipment is widely used in the maturation of feed, especially in processing extruded aquatic feed, ordinary pelleted feed, and food products, solving drying challenges. The built-in hot air circulation system ensures efficient heat transfer while maintaining low energy consumption and cost, significantly reducing production costs. This series of equipment is typically compact, easy to operate, energy-efficient, and has a high processing capacity. It can be customized to meet the precise temperature, humidity, and processing speed requirements of different materials, ensuring both production efficiency and product quality.

Goldlong Machinery And Engineering Co., Ltd. builds counter-flow pellet coolers for feed mills producing poultry, livestock, aqua and extruded feed. As Custom Animal Feed Pellet Cooler Manufacturers, we supply the SKLN series from our 14,000 m² manufacturing facility in Liyang, Jiangsu, China, and integrate it into turnkey feed milling projects.
After the Pellet Mill or Extruder, pellets are hot and moist. The cooler removes that heat and moisture before screening, crumbling or bagging, so the finished pellets remain stable, hard enough for handling and safe for storage.
In a counter-flow cooler, ambient air moves upward while pellets move downward. The hottest, wettest pellets at the bottom meet the warmest, most humid exhaust air; pellets are therefore cooled gradually from the bottom of the bed toward the top. This avoids the surface cracking that can occur when cold air hits hot pellets directly.
We size the cooler by live volume and by the output of the upstream pellet mill. Each SKLN model is fitted with two level indicators and has a cooling time of 8–15 minutes; the correct cycle depends on pellet diameter, formula, moisture and ambient humidity.
| Model | Capacity (t/h) | Power (kW) | Volume (m³) | Cooling Time (min) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SKLN1.5 | 1–3 | 0.75+1.1+0.55 | 1.5 | 8–15 |
| SKLN2.5 | 3–6 | 1.1+1.5+0.55 | 2.5 | 8–15 |
| SKLN4 | 6–10 | 1.5+0.55 | 4 | 8–15 |
| SKLN6 | 10–15 | 1.5+0.55 | 6 | 8–15 |
| SKLN8 | 15–20 | 1.5/2.2+0.75 | 8 | 8–15 |
| SKLN10 | 20–25 | 2.2+0.75 | 10 | 8–15 |
| SKLN12 | 25–30 | 2.2+0.75 | 12 | 8–15 |
The discharge side uses a linear reciprocating grid-type unloading mechanism for smooth, adjustable discharge, with a slide valve option for reliable operation and minimal residue. The SKLN range also supports a special coercive discharging system for materials that tend to stick or bridge in the cooling bed.
For standard pelleted feed, the cooler runs continuously after the pellet mill. The SKLN4, SKLN6 and SKLN8 models cover typical single-line capacities from 6 to 20 t/h, while the SKLN10 and SKLN12 handle high-output poultry lines.
Extruded aqua feed leaves the extruder with higher moisture and needs gentle, controlled cooling to set the structure and reduce internal stress. The counter-flow design and 8–15 minute cooling cycle suit floating and sinking feed lines.
The same range is used for granular food products, biomass pellets and other materials where direct cold-air contact would damage the surface. We configure airflow and discharge speed to protect fragile particles and maintain production efficiency.
The SKLN series can be supplied as a stand-alone machine with its own fan and discharge control, or as part of a complete feed mill line where the cooler is interlocked with upstream and downstream equipment.
Commissioning includes safe start-up and shut-down sequences for the fan, discharge mechanism and connected equipment, so your operators understand the normal running conditions before handover.
Our workshop runs under ERP management to control production operations and equipment utilization. Before shipment, each cooler is inspected for performance, stability and safety, and the assembled system is operationally tested.
We deliver coolers as part of turnkey projects: design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and after-sales service are handled by one project team. The service scope includes operator training, maintenance guidance, remote diagnostics and rapid response, with common wear parts kept in stock to minimize downtime.
Goldlong has supplied machinery and turnkey projects across Europe, Asia and Africa, including Russia, Romania, Indonesia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. We use that project experience to match the cooler layout to local ambient conditions and site constraints.
For a precise proposal, please share the following project data with our engineering team:
With that data, we configure the SKLN model, airflow, discharge speed and control interface, and provide the cooler as a stand-alone export package or as part of a full turnkey feed line.
The SKLN6 is the standard starting point for 10–15 t/h of cooled pellets. Final selection depends on pellet diameter, moisture, ambient conditions and the required cooling time; we confirm the model when you send the feed rate and formula data.
Yes. The gradual, counter-flow cooling action is well suited to extruded aqua feed because it avoids surface cracking and sets the pellet structure while moisture is released evenly. The special coercive discharging system also helps with materials that are sticky or slow to discharge.
Counter-flow cooling uses the warmest exhaust air to meet the hottest pellets, so the pellet surface is not shocked by cold air. This reduces fines, improves pellet hardness and gives a more uniform final moisture level across the full cooling bed.
We support the full lifecycle. Turnkey projects include installation, commissioning and operator training, and our after-sales service covers remote diagnostics, maintenance guidance and rapid response. Common wear parts are kept in stock for fast dispatch.
Send the target cooled capacity, material type and pellet diameter, moisture entering and target moisture, ambient temperature and humidity, available height, electrical supply details, and the model of the upstream pellet mill or extruder. That allows us to size the model, fan and control interface accurately.
Our portfolio also includes Wholesale SKLN Series Counter-flow Cooler Factory for applications with different operating ranges, interfaces or integration requirements.
